ScerGAL4Alk.38 drives widespread expression in the third instar larval and adult brain. Similarly to the expression of Alk protein, in the adult, labelling is stronger in the mushroom body calyx (dendrites of Kenyon cells), protocerebral bridge, antennal lobe and subesophageal ganglion. However, ScerGAL4Alk.38 also labels the axons of Kenyon cells, which make up the lobe system of the mushroom bodies.
