Expression of TrpA1JF02461 under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PG leads to abolished rolling behavior in response to heat stimulus compared to controls.

Expression of TrpA1JF02461 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR60F07, Scer\GAL4386Y, or the combination of Scer\GAL4TrpA1-AB-G4 and Scer\GAL80tsh-GAL80, but not Scer\GAL4GMR21E09, Scer\GAL4GMR21G01, or Scer\GAL4GMR21F01, in combination with a Dicer-2 transgene to enhance RNAi efficiency, in larvae results in significantly reduced rolling (escape) behavior in response to noxious temperature increases, compared to controls.

Expression of TrpA1JF02461 under the control of any of the following: Scer\GAL4Rh5-G, Scer\GAL4Rh6-G, Scer\GAL4TrpA1-AB-G4 or Scer\GAL4TrpA1-CD-G4 results in impaired thermotactic behavior in late third instar larvae (120 hr AEL): unlike controls, they display no strong preference for cooler temperatures (18[o]C) in a temperature gradient. Expression under Scer\GAL4trp.PP has no significant effect on the larval thermal preferences.
