Expressing egrUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 primarily causes an invasive phenotype in the wing disc but has little effect on the overall wing disc size.

Expression of egrUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4rn-GAL4-5 (with tub-Gal80[ts] restricting expression to third instar larvae) leads to apoptosis and cellular debris in wing disc around wing pouch (wing pouches are regenerated 72 hours after expression has ceased) in larvae while it leads to relatively normal sized wing blades, no ectopic wings and normal appearing thorax in adults compared to controls.

Constitutive expression of egrScer\UAS.cUa in the retina under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in an extreme small eye phenotype.

Expression of egrScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4Hml.PG results in a reduction in the number of plasmatocytes compared with controls.

Flies expressing egrScer\UAS.cUa in plasmatocytes under the control of Scer\GAL4Hml.PG show significantly reduced survival rate following parental infection with Micrococcus luteus only between 5 and 8 days post infection, compared with control flies.

Expression of egrScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in a strong small eye phenotype.

Expression of egrScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.PU induces apoptosis at the anterior-posterior boundary of the third instar larval wing disc.

Expression of egrUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4rn-GAL4-5 (with tub-Gal80[ts] restricting expression to third instar larvae) in Df(3R)Exel8157/+, CtBP03463/+, CtBP334Δ4/+, CtBPN148PY, CtBP148Δ2, mirr1486/+ or mirr1825/+ background; or in combination with expression of Ilp8UAS.cUa, CtBPUAS.Tag:FLAG (occasionally), upd1UAS.cUa or BacA\p35UAS.cHa leads to ectopic wings compared to controls.

Expression of egrUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4rn-GAL4-5 (with tub-Gal80[ts] restricting expression to third instar larvae) in combination with wgUAS.cHa.Tag:HA, DroncC318S.UAS, CtBPTag:FLAG, CtBPHMS00677, kayFbz.UAS, bskK53R.UAS or CtBPJF01291; or in the background of wg1/+, hepr75/+, Df(3L)XR38/+, upd2Δ/+, upd3Δ/+, upd1YM55/+ or upd2Δ/+ upd3Δ/+ does not lead to ectopic wings compared to controls.

Expression of egrUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4nub-AC-62 (but not Scer\GAL4GMR15B03, Scer\GAL4GMR76A01, or Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1) alone or together with either Scer\GAL4GMR15B03 or Scer\GAL4GMR76A01 (with tub-Gal80[ts] restricting expression to third instar larvae) in CtBP87De-10/+ background (but not in wild type background) leads to ectopic wings compared to controls.

In CtBP87De-10/+ background expression of egrUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4rn-GAL4-5 (with tub-Gal80[ts] restricting expression to third instar larvae) leads to either no ectopic wings (in majority) or ectopic wings (24-hour-expression yielding a lower frequency than 40-hour-expression) on one or two sides compared to controls. Ectopic wings occur most frequently when expression is induced on early stages of third instar larvae. After expression has ceased, wing discs exhibit morphological changes associated with the outgrowth of an ectopic wing pouch from the posterior edge of the notum.

Co-expression of egrUAS.cUa and BacA\p35UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4rn-GAL4-5 (with tub-Gal80[ts] restricting expression to third instar larvae) leads to ectopic wings compared to controls.

Co-expression of Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC with egrScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF partially rescues the eye phenotype resulting from the overexpression of egrScer\UAS.cUa. While the size of the Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC-rescued eye is marginally larger than the eyes expressing egrScer\UAS.cUa alone, black necrotic tissue is clearly visible within the eye tissue.

Co-expression of Styp\AvrAScer\UAS.cJa with egrScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF compeltely rescues the eye phenotype resulting from the overexpression of egrScer\UAS.cUa.

Expression of Styp\AvrAScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC completely suppresses the small eye phenotype seen when egrScer\UAS.cUa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.

Expression of Styp\AvrAm.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC does not suppress the small eye phenotype seen when egrScer\UAS.cUa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.
