individuals expressing mir-276aUAS.pLUC under the control of Scer\GAL4lncRNA:CR46006-0168-G4 show decreased day-time sleep, with decreased sleep episode duration.

individuals expressing mir-276aUAS.pLUC under the control Scer\GAL4tim.PE show decreased day-time and night-time sleep.

individuals expressing mir-276aUAS.pLUC under the control of Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PR or Scer\GAL4Mef2.247 show decreased day-time sleep.

Expression of mir-276aScer\UAS.T:Ppyr\LUC under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf or Scer\GAL4tim.PE results in arrhythmic circadian activity in 50% and 82% of adult flies, respectively. Expression limited to adulthood (by using the Scer\GAL4Pdf.Switch1a driver and RU486-supplemented diet to activate the expression in adult flies only) also leads to severe behavioral arrhythmicity, with ~70% of flies arrhythmic. Circadian free-running period in the Scer\GAL4tim.PE>mir-276aScer\UAS.T:Ppyr\LUC flies that remain (at least partially) rhythmic is lower than in controls, but most likely just due to inaccuracy of the measurements caused by the decreased rhythmicity as with the other drivers the difference is either insignificant or very weak.

Expression of mir-276aScer\UAS.T:Ppyr\LUC under the control of Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 results in a weak wing notching phenotype.

The severe behavioral arrhythmicity (~70% of flies display arrhythmic circadian activity) observed in flies upon adult-onset expression of mir-276aScer\UAS.T:Ppyr\LUC under the control of Scer\GAL4Pdf.Switch1a (used with RU486-supplemented diet to control the time of expression) is partially rescued by co-expression of timScer\UAS.cYa.
