Description

UAS drives expression of E(spl)m8-HLH in which a STOP codon is substituted in place of the W176 of the WRPW motif, thus removing this motif and abolishing gro protein binding. In addition, S159 is changed to D to mimic phosphorylation.

Expression of E(spl)m8-HLHSD.Δgro.Scer\UAS with Scer\GAL4455.2 results in ectopic scutellar macrochaetes.

Expression of E(spl)m8-HLHSD.Δgro.Scer\UAS with Scer\GAL4h-H10 is ineffective.
