Drives expression some proneural clusters such as the ones in the scutellar region and predominantly (if not exclusively) in the SOPs and their daughters for most of the bristles elsewhere in the notum. Drives expression in photoreceptor cell R8.

 :ScerGAL4sca-109-68 drives expression in proneural cells of the wing imaginal disk and in stage 6 follicle cells.

Expressed in some proneural clusters such as the ones in the scutellar region and predominantly (if not exclusively) in the SOP and their daughters for most of the bristles elsewhere in the notum. Mosaics induced by targeting UAS-FLP1: some clones contain only cells in the sense organ lineage, but others include nearby epidermal cells; thus, may not be completely SOP-specific.
