The expression of Rbfox1dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-109-68 results in adults presenting supernumerary thoracic sensory bristles and presenting an increased number of wing campaniform sensilla - i.e. L3 vein sensilla and wing margin twin sensilla -, which are also frequently transformed into bristle structures, and results in third instar larval wing discs presenting an increased number of sensory organ precursor cells but no obvious proneural cluster size changes, as compared to controls. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-C253 results in adults presenting supernumerary thoracic sensory bristles and results in third instar larval wing discs presenting an increased number of sensory organ precursor cells, as compared to controls. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-109-68, Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237, Scer\GAL4MS248 or Scer\GAL4ap.PU, but not Scer\GAL4pros.PMG, results in adults presenting supernumerary thoracic sensory bristles, as compared to controls.

Expression of A2bp1dsRNA.Scer\UAS using Scer\GAL4tub or Scer\GAL4hs.PB causes early larval lethality.

Expression of A2bp1dsRNA.Scer\UAS using Scer\GAL4A2bp1-EN403-GAL4 results in loss of intervein region and ectopic cross veins between L3 and L4 of the adult wing blade.

Expression of A2bp1dsRNA.Scer\UAS using Scer\GAL4bbg-C96 or Scer\GAL4vg.PM does not result in any wing phenotype and the flies are fully viable.

Expression of A2bp1dsRNA.Scer\UAS using Scer\GAL4bi-md653, Scer\GAL4ap-md544, Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 or Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 causes loss of intervein region and fusion of veins L3 and L4. In some cases, there is an excess of vein tissue.

Clonal induction of A2bp1dsRNA.Scer\UAS causes ectopic veins in the wing blade, with the majority being between veins L3 and L4.

Expression of A2bp1dsRNA.Scer\UAS using Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 in the presence of one copy of A2bp1EY01049 causes an enhanced L3/L4 vein phenotype: fusion of veins L3 and L4 is accompanied by thickening of the fused vein, and large patches of ectopic veins are observed in regions beyond L5.

The supernumerary thoracic sensory bristles in individuals expressing Rbfox1dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-109-68 is partially suppressed by heterozygosity for either sensE58 or sensE2.

The expression of Rbfox1dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-109-68 enhances the loss of thoracic sensory bristles and leads to significant amount of sockets instead of bristles in individuals that are heterozygous for H1, H2 or H3, fully suppresses the decreased number of thoracic sensory bristles present in NAx-16 heterozygous adults, but does not suppress the complete loss of thoracic sensory macrochaeta and microchaeta that results from the expression of either E(spl)m8-HLHScer\UAS.cUa alone or Nint.G.Scer\UAS alone under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-109-68.

The expression of Rbfox1dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-109-68 in N55e11 heterozygotes or in individuals also expressing spdoScer\UAS.cOa leads to the strong enhancement of the supernumerary thoracic sensory bristle phenotype observed in individuals only expressing Rbfox1dsRNA.Scer\UAS or spdoScer\UAS.cOa under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-109-68, or in individuals only heterozygous for N55e11; co-expression of both Rbfox1dsRNA.Scer\UAS and spdoScer\UAS.cOa even leads to to an increase in the number of other (i.e. non-bristle) sensory organs in the thorax, as compared to controls; expression of Rbfox1dsRNA.Scer\UAS in N55e11 heterozygotes even leads to ectopic thoracic bristles, as compared to controls.

The co-expression of both Rbfox1dsRNA.Scer\UAS and NDN.Scer\UAS strongly enhances both the supernumerary thoracic sensory bristle phenotype in adults (when under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-C253, but not when under the control of Scer\GAL4pros.PMG) and the increased number of sensory organ precursor cells in third instar larval wing discs (when under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-C253) which result from the expression of either NDN.Scer\UAS alone or Rbfox1dsRNA.Scer\UAS alone.

Co-expression of knScer\UAS.cMa in a Scer\GAL4bi-md653, A2bp1dsRNA.Scer\UAS background rescues the loss of intervein tissue phenotype and causes a loss of vein tissue.

Co-expression of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa in a Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096, A2bp1dsRNA.Scer\UAS background enhances the knock-down of A2bp1 and results in death at early pupal stages.
