The expression of Ten-aGD8834 under the control of Scer\GAL4Or47b.7.467 results in adult antennal lobe glomeruli VA1lm with normal morphology, but the associated olfactory receptor neurons Or47b have significant decreases in the number and density of pre-synaptic sites, as assessed by an active zone marker, as compared to controls.

Expression of Ten-aGD8834 in the olfactory receptor neurons (ORNs) under the control of Scer\GAL4peb-GAL4 results in very mild intermingling of Ncra\QFMz19.PH-expressing projection neuron (PN) dendrites and Or47b-expressing ORN axons (these axons and dendrites do not overlap in wild type).

Expression of Ten-aGD8834 in the PNs (under the control of Scer\GAL4GH146) results in intermingling of Ncra\QFMz19.PH-expressing PN dendrites and Or47b-expressing ORN axons.

Expression of Ten-aGD8834 in DA1 projection neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4Mz19 (using MARCM) causes their dendrites to mismatch with Or47b-expressing ORN axons. Expression of Ten-aGD8834 in VA1d/DC3 projection neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4Mz19 (using MARCM) does not result in mismatching of their dendrites to Or47b-expressing ORN axons.

Expression of Ten-aGD8834 under the control of Scer\GAL4Ten-m-NP6658 does not result in defects in muscle 3 innervation.

Adults expressing Ten-aGD8834 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Co-expression of both Ten-aGD8834 and Ten-mGD3620 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 shifts Or47b-expressing olfactory receptor neuron (ORN) axons to a position between two adjacent Ncra\QFMz19.PH-expressing glomeruli (DA1 and VA1d). In addition, Ncra\QFMz19.PH-expressing projection neuron (PN) dendrites and Or47b-expressing ORN axons intermingle without a clear border.

Co-expression of both Ten-aGD8834 and Ten-mGD3620 under the control of either Scer\GAL4peb-GAL4 (expressed in the ORNs) or Scer\GAL4GH146 (expressed in the PNs) results in intermingling of Ncra\QFMz19.PH-expressing PN dendrites and Or47b-expressing ORN axons.

Co-expression of Ten-mGD3620 and Ten-aGD8834 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.247 or Scer\GAL4nrv2.PS results in defects in T-bar ultrastructure, membrane organisation and apposition to contractile tissues.
