Detailed Description
Statement

Expression of NJF02959 under the control of Scer\GAL4tj-NP1624 leads to fusion of follicles in the ovary, a significant reduction in the average number of cap cells per germarium, and a significant decrease in the average number of germline stem cells per germarium, but no significant change in the number of terminal filament cells. In some cases, all cap cells and germline stem cells are missing, and escort cells are misplaced to the tip of the germarium, where they make contact with the terminal filament and a differentiating germline cyst.

Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Co-expression of tjScer\UAS.cGa fails to suppress the decrease in cap cell and germline stem cell numbers in ovaries from flies expressing NJF02959 under the control of Scer\GAL4tj-NP1624.

Terminal filaments in ovaries from flies expressing tjNIG.10034R and NJF02959 under the control of Scer\GAL4tj-NP1624 are considerably shorter than those from flies expressing only tjNIG.10034R, although on average are still significantly longer than those in controls. Ovaries from flies expressing tjNIG.10034R and NJF02959 have a significant decrease in the number of terminal filaments, and some terminal filaments are unusually short with fewer than 7 cells.

Xenogenetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

The aggressive tissue overgrowth observed in third instar larval wing discs carrying somatic (flip-out) clones simultaneously expressing Snr1HMS00363 and BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa driven by Scer\GAL4Act.PU is significantly suppressed by co-expression of NJF02959.
