Expression of OambScer\UAS.K3 in Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PR neurons results in a significant reduction in sleep in a Oamb286 background, thus effectively rescuing the phenotype. A decrease in nighttime sleep in response to 10 mg/ml octopamine is also rescued in these flies.

Expression of OambScer\UAS.K3 under the control of the Scer\GAL4hs.PB driver rescues the ovulation defects seen in Oambunspecified mutants following heat shock at 37[o]C for 1h twice a day for 3 days. No rescue is seen when either construct is expressed alone or if no heat shock is applied.

Expression of OambScer\UAS.K3 in neurons using the Scer\GAL4elav.PU driver fails to rescue the ovulation defects seen in Oambunspecified mutants.

Co-expression of OambScer\UAS.AS and OambScer\UAS.K3 in the absence of a Scer\GAL4 driver partially rescues the ovulation defects seen in Oambunspecified mutants. The phenotype is not suppressed any further through the addition of the Scer\GAL4elav.PU neuronal driver.

Expression of OambScer\UAS.K3 in neurons using the Scer\GAL4Cha.7.4 driver fails to rescue the ovulation defects seen in Oambunspecified mutants.

Expression of OambScer\UAS.K3 in the oviduct epithelium using the Scer\GAL4Oamb.4.4 driver rescues the ovulation defects seen in Oambunspecified mutants.

Co-expression of OambScer\UAS.AS and OambScer\UAS.K3 in the oviduct epithelium using Scer\GAL4Oamb.4.4 rescues the ovulation defects seen in Oambunspecified mutants.

Expression of OambScer\UAS.K3 under the control of Scer\GAL4Oamb.4.4, using Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B to limit expression to 3 days prior to mating, results in rescue of the ovulation defects seen in Oambunspecified mutants.
