    Reference

Possesses wild type activity in trangenic flies.

Female fertility is restored with two copies of P{K-bcd} or P{K-osk}.

Eggs produced by fs(1)K10LM00 grkED22 double mutant females are more ventralised than eggs produced by grkED22 single mutant females. Most double mutant eggs contain no or only a node of dorsal appendage material positioned on the dorsal midline, whereas grkED22 single mutant eggs have at least one dorsal appendage that usually extends anteriorly beyond the anterior tip of the egg. Expression of fs(1)K10hs.PS restores near complete fertility (greater than 95% egg hatching) to fs(1)K10LM00 females. Maximal rescue occurs with heat shocks applied at any time between the middle of stage 7 and the middle of stage 8. Heat shocks applied at any time between the middle of stage 8 to the end of stage 8 can restore up to 35% fertility. No fertility is restored if heat shocks are applied during or after the end of stage 8.

    Strong dorsalisation of embryos.
