Expression of dxScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4E(spl)m6-BFM.PF leads to significantly increased numbers of abdominal lateral adult muscle precursor cells in third instar larvae, as compared to controls.

Expression of dxScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4bbg-C96 results in mild irregularities of bristles at the wing margin.

Expression of dxScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 results in ectopic joints in the leg.

Expression of dxScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 at 19[o]C results in a large reduction in the number of microchaetae on the notum (in the region of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression), with many remaining bristles developing abnormally as socket-only, double, triple or groups of five or more bristles.

Clones in the wing disc that express dxScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PP show additional cell proliferation compared to wild type.

Expression of dxScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 results in a loss of the anterior crossvein in the wing.

When dxScer\UAS.cMa is driven by Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 leads to an enlarged ventral compartment in the wing disc.

When dxScer\UAS.cMa is driven by Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 a secondary wing-margin like structure is induced in the wing. Tis structure includes ectopic outgrowth and ectopic bristle formation.

Co-expression of dxScer\UAS.cMa and krzScer\UAS.cRa under the control of Scer\GAL4E(spl)m6-BFM.PF suppresses the increased number of abdominal lateral adult muscle precursor cells in third instar larvae observed upon expression of either dxScer\UAS.cMa or krzScer\UAS.cRa alone.

The co-expression of dxScer\UAS.cMa and InRR418P.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4E(spl)m6-BFM.PF results in increased numbers of abdominal lateral adult muscle precursor cells present in third instar larvae, as compared to controls.

The co-expression of dxScer\UAS.cMa suppresses the decreased number of abdominal lateral adult muscle precursor cells present in third instar larvae expressing PtenScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4E(spl)m6-BFM.PF.

Co-expression of maheScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 and dxScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4bbg-C96 results in wing margin nicking.

Expression of dxScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 has no effect on the ectopic leg joint phenotype of dsh1 flies.

The phenotype of reduced microchaetae on the notum which is caused by expression of dxScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 at 19[o]C is enhanced by co-expression of Hip1Scer\UAS.cMa, such that microchaetae are almost completely eliminated in the region of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression.

The phenotype of reduced microchaetae on the notum which is caused by expression of dxScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 at 19[o]C is partially suppressed by co-expression of Hip1ΔANTH.Scer\UAS; bristle number is increased and the number of abnormal bristles is reduced.

Unlike expression in clones with a wild-type background, expression of dxScer\UAS.cMa (driven by Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PP) in Su(H)del47 mutant clones does not result in increased cell proliferation.

The wing phenotype seen in flies co-expressing Nedd4GS13178 and dxScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 resembles that seen in flies expressing Nedd4GS13178 alone under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1. Co-expression of Nedd4C974FS enhances the wing phenotype caused by expression of dxScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1; ectopic wing margin is formed.

Has no effect on the wing nicking phenotype seen in mamN.Scer\UAS, Scer\GAL4C96 flies.

Comments

The combination of dxΔPRM.Scer\UAS and dxScer\UAS.cMa (driven by Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1) suppresses the phenotypes seen with either construct alone. The addition of Scer\GAL4hs.PB (driven by Scer\GAL4hs.PB) can rescue the dx24 wing phenotype, completely rescuing 18% of the time.
